 Program Initiatives Photos

 Volunteers at Mary’s Kitchen served during 2013 on the Wednesday Crew.  They are continuing to serve in 2014.
Guest Lee Albritton talked to the sorority about his program, Common Ground. The program’s main focus is Healthy Food and Healthy Communities. The chapter participated in the program from April until October in 2012 and 2013 and will participate in 2014.

2013 Program Activities
The Saturday Supper on 1-19-13 was at our sorority complex.  ZOO invited veterans, active duty military, their families, and community leaders.  The theme was "Bringing Back the Old Values".
On Sunday, 1-20-13 Zeta Omicron Omega collaborated with Lenoir County NAACP as they celebrated MLK's Birthday.  Members worked as ushers and hostesses and set up a voter registration table.
Zeta Omicron Omega cooked and served lunch to 150 homeless people on Monday, 1-21-13 at Mary's Soup Kitchen in Kinston, NC. The Chapter gave each person a gift to celebrate MLK Day and to honor the veterans.
Zeta Omicrom Omega collaborated with First Baptist Church in Kinston, NC in their Backpack Buddies program.  ZOO donated. food for the weekend  for 60 kids from area schools.  Members also volunteered to help pack the bags for the month of May. Beginning with September of 2012 ZOO provided handwritten notes to the 60 students in the program and will continue to do so monthly until the end of the school year in 2013.​ Zoo is also continuing to write notes in 2014.

Common Ground

ZOO participated in the Angel Tree Program again in 2013.  Xmas gifts were given to 15 Angel Tree kids who have incarcerated parents. We also donated funds to match a grant that paid costs for another 20 kids.

2014 Program Activities
ZOO participated in the MLK Celebration sponsored by NAACP on January 19, 2014.  We served as ushers and hostesses.  We also set up a Voter Registration table. On January 20, 2014 we served lunch at Mary's Soup Kitchen as our MLK Service Project.  We also participated in a MLK Celebration Progtam sponsored by The Young Women of Promise.
